A Day with the Joffer Family // Newborn Lifestyle Session

As a photographer here in Southern Oregon, I have the unique privilege of being invited into some of the sweetest and most tender moments in the lives of families. Recently, I got to document the Joffer family as they welcomed baby Clara and became a family of five. Ben and Amy are blessed with three beautiful daughters: Reese, Mia, and Clara. Their home is a bustling haven of activity, laughter, and love, and it was such a joy to capture their dynamic.

From the moment I walked through the door of their welcoming home, I was greeted with a whirlwind of enthusiasm and curiosity. Reese, the eldest, instantly captivated me with her boundless energy and infectious smile. She’s a little dynamo, always on the move, with a passion for soccer and anything that involves running around. It wasn’t long before she was showing me her favorite moves and convincing her little sister Mia to join in! Mia, at two years old, is a sweet little mini-mommy, always eager to help and nurture. She has a gentle, caring spirit that was so endearing to witness, especially when she was doting on baby Clara. Ben and Amy describe Clara as “our easiest baby yet”, and she certainly lived up to that during our session. She was calm and content, gazing up at her family with wide, curious eyes. It was the best to see how she already seemed to recognize and respond to the loving faces around her.

This little quintet are a family that loves to have fun and spend quality time together. They shared with me their favorite activities, like going on walks, having dance parties, and swimming at Grandma and Grandpa’s house. They are deeply thankful for their life together, rooted in their faith and love for Jesus. This spiritual foundation has given them a profound appreciation for life’s abundant grace and the honor of raising their three wonderful daughters. They spoke about how their faith has guided them and brought them closer together, especially during the ups and downs of this last pregnancy.

One of my favorite parts of the session was hearing about their love story. They met in the beautiful setting of Maui while she was in Bible college. Ben was a groomsman at her friend’s wedding, and sparks flew from there. They also shared candidly about the incredible honor of shaping and raising their daughters, watching them grow and develop their unique personalities. They also touched on the challenges they’ve faced, particularly the need to slow down and savor the moment. Capturing their family’s love and connection is a joy, and I look forward to many more sessions with them as their family grows and evolves!

Each family I work with has a unique story, and being able to document these moments is something I don’t take lightly. Thank you, Joffer family, for inviting me into your home and allowing me to capture these precious memories. Let’s capture another milestone soon!
