Us // Family Photoshoot
It's a bit of a funny thing to step in front of the camera, instead of behind it. But, I try to practice what I preach, and document these special days as they fly on by. I know how important it is. This year, we asked Ashley Crenshaw of Gypsy Jane Photography to capture our little crew for a family session. Of course, because we live in Oregon, it was pouring rain! It's always an adventure around here. We waited out the storm, and swapped family photos (you can see theirs right HERE), and oh how I loved seeing her spunky and delightful kiddos running around in the puddles.
If you've followed any of our journey to become parents, you know it wasn't an easy one. And getting to see our little trio in photos still brings tears to my eyes...to see my husband be a daddy makes me fall even more in love with him. He serves Rowan and I so selflessly and consistently, and it blows my mind. Seeing my little Rowan in these photos brings unexplainable joy to my heart. The waiting, the longing, the unknown and the grief...I remember all the moments of my journey to becoming his mommy. I knew God would build us a family, but I didn't know how it might look. And it looks better than I ever imagined that it could...God is so good.
I love this session because it is real and authentic, and it captures our love of Oregon, my love of Lotta clogs, and how God is gracious and loving in the midst of hardship. A special shoutout to Whitney Audrey for doing my makeup and making me feel beautiful (it's so worth it to get your makeup done for a photoshoot!).
Merry Christmas to all of you!
