Spontaneous Family Snow Session | Families
So, let's say that you wake up to a winter wonderland and need someone to photograph in front of this gorgeous wood shed. Turns out the Aspinwall Family actually said yes to my wild request! My husband Kelly, (who is always such a trooper about these things) and I quickly loaded up the car in our warm winter gear to head back up to my in-laws beautiful property. The Aspinwalls followed us up the slushy, curvy Butte Falls Highway to the snowy, woodsy goodness (bless their hearts). Just as we drove up, the most perfect flakes began to fall, it was magical to say the least. We said a quick hello and took advantage of the snowfall right away. The girls (ages almost 2 and almost 4) were beyond excited that it was snowing. "Noooo!"(snow) Ensley kept shouting, while Emmy would stick her tongue out excitedly to catch any snowflake that she could! She loved chasing the puppies in the snow, and pronounced it the “best day ever!"I had an absolutely wonderful time getting to traipse through the snow, sip on cider and and get to know this family a little more. I look forward to future hangouts! Cyndi, my sweetheart of a mother in law does not know a stranger and in true fashion, she had warm cider waiting for us all along with a toasty fire built by the one and only mountain Mike (I couldn't love my in laws more!).The mom of this family, Grace, had this to say about their snowy session: “These photos, to us, represent much more than just a session. 2015 was very hard for our family, and while there was a lot of joy, there was also a lot of hard times. We miscarried a little one in March, followed by a very hard time health-wise for me. I was rushed into emergency surgery, and the Lord graciously spared my life. I am so grateful for His mercy. We faced financial stress, job upheaval, purchased our first home, and dealt with more health problems for me as well. There were many nights of tears and healing and clinging to each other. Through it all, God was so good to our little family. Our girls bring us so much joy, and we just celebrated our five year wedding anniversary. These photos remind me that we survived this year, that God never left us through it all, and we can remember all the Joy He brought us into. These photos represent a new season of jubilee, of provision, of thankfulness that I get to still be a mama to these precious girls, and wife to the greatest husband around. They brought me to tears (happy tears!). I will always remember this year when I look back on this session, and the happy day we had! Allie was wonderful to work with!"Thank you Aspinwalls for your willingness and spontaneity! We loved it! It really was a perfect day!You can follow Grace’s blog here.
