Our Favorite Pieces for Spring

It can be difficult to choose the perfect item for your senior session, but I encourage every client I work with to pick the things that most show off their personal style. For some, that is a gorgeous blouse, for others, an heirloom pair of earrings…I work with seniors who have classic tastes, ones who are masters at putting together a boho look, or those who are edgy fashionistas! I love seeing the things they bring to their sessions, and helping them shape a shoot that will forever capture this time in their lives. Here are some inspirational items that can be that “statement” piece for your upcoming senior shoot:-Kendra Scott jewelry: Kendra Scott is such a classic look! If you are someone who likes a preppier, more elegant style, this sort of jewelry can be a great investment. It’s on the pricier side, but every piece can be quite versatile, and there’s a reason they are a favorite among senior photographers; they are gorgeous! We love these simple drop earrings and this pretty necklace. Perfect for: the girl who loves to shop at JCrew and Loft. -Carly Jean Maxi Dress: If you’re a girl who loves the look of Free People and Anthropologie, you will love Carly Jean Los Angeles. The boho company has some really gorgeous pieces that are affordable enough for everyday wear. We especially love this stunning maxi dress (and at a fraction of the cost of Free People dresses), and think it would look perfect with an open toe ankle boot and a great wool hat. Perfect for: the girl with dreamy Bohemian style.-The Perfect Jeans: No matter what your personal style aesthetic is, many of the best looks start with great fitting jeans. A simple pair of undistressed, dark wash skinny jeans can be the starting point for any look, including an unfussy combination of a white or black blouse and minimal jewelry. Our favorite denim is from clothier Madewell, who has low, mid, high, and extra high rises, along with curvy and straight fits. They are definitely in the designer denim price range at about $125 a pair, but trust us when we say they’re worth it.
